Description

A great spring hunt for Merriam turkeys in Colorado. This is a 3 day fully guided hunt in South Central Colorado including all meals and lodging. This hunt takes place entirely on private land on 2 different properties combining a total of around 5500 acres. One property is roughly 500 acres on the river bottom and and 5000 acres on a higher elevation mountain property. This property does have a lot of road access so outfitter will drive hunters to field spots and begin to call in birds. Colorado has a one bearded bird limit.

    Deposits are not refundable. When you make a deposit or payment that money is used to reserve your adventure dates and we cannot sell them to anyone else. If for some reason you have to cancel, you will lose your deposit and any payments you have made. If you are concerned that you might get sick or otherwise have to cancel, we suggest buying trip insurance. There are insurance companies that specialize in providing insurance policies for outfitter bookings and hunts. One such company we recommend is globalrescue.com. It is also our policy, depending on the adventure you booked and at our discretion, that if you have to cancel and we are able to book a replacement for you at the regular price we will work with you to apply your deposits to another adventure. Please note that we cannot refund or roll state or government license fees, application fees, draw results, or tags.

This hunt takes place entirely on private land on 2 different properties combining a total of around 5500 acres. One property is roughly 500 acres on the river bottom and and 5000 acres on a higher elevation mountain property. This property does have a lot of road access so outfitter will drive hunters to field spots and begin to call in birds. Colorado has a one bearded bird limit. Outfitter will allow for a semi-guided hunt if hunters are interested in calling and sitting on their own. Outfitter can accommodate for any physical ability. The hunt will either be spot and stalk or set up in a blind at the river bottom. This outfitter is 100% for shot opportunity on great toms! Option for a non-hunter companion for an additional fee.

    Hunter will stay in a nice lodge for this hunt. Bunk-style rooms. Only 4 hunters in camp per week. The outfitter will supply all bedding. Both cell service and WIFI is provided at the lodge. *Photos coming soon.

    Hunter will be provided with homestyle, home-cooked meals for this hunt. Grab and go breakfast will be available before the hunt. Lunches will be sack lunches for the field.

    There will be light hiking required for this hunt, but the outfitter can accommodate for all physical abilities. There are 2 properties to hunt. One provides much easier walking (river bottom) while one may require a quarter mile hike based on where the birds are found.


    Transportation (To/From Basecamp)

    Final destination flight city is Denver or Colorado Springs, Colorado. Ranch is approximately a 3 hour drive south of Denver. Nearest town is Trinidad, Colorado. Outfitter will provide all field transportation with trucks or side x sides and ATVS.

    Description

    This is a spring hunt in the Colorado rockies. The ranch sits at about 6000 feet and some hunts could be conducted as high as 8000 feet. Hunter should be prepared with a good layering system as mornings and evenings can be cooler at these elevations. Waterproof boots are a must as there may be snow or wet grasses where hunters set up. It is required that you bring your hunter's safety card with you in the field if you are not verified in the state of Colorado when you purchase your license. Full gear list to be provided if requested when booked.
